Positive: Konini Retreat provided all the comfort of a boutique hotel stay, with the privacy of a compact villa nestled into the hills of Arorangi. Modern comforts did not distract from the experience of being on this beautiful Island paradise. Morning coffee on the deck was a daily joy, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the waking island. Just a short 10min walk to the beach and sparkling clear waters, we hired kayaks and snorkel gear to explore the lagoon and swim amongst fishes and sea turtles. Just far enough away from down town but close enough to beautiful restaurants, cafés and night market to enjoy these every day. Konini Retreat amenities were top notch, with Anita even putting aloe vera gel in the fridge for me (redhead problems)! Don't get me started on the bathroom ...that shower! *chef's kiss* ...and the super comfy bed!! Fluid communication and recommendations for nearby services. WiFi access meant I could keep everyone back home in Australia updated on my adventures, and still stream my fav shows/movies onto the TV when I kicked my feet up after a full day of exploring the island. I will be recommending Konini Retreat to everyone I know! ....and I will definitely be back!

Positive: Pretty spot on location for everything we did as we were mainly on that side of the island or over in Muri. Close enough to the beach and bus stops but in a nice quiet area. Beautiful deck for afternoon beverages. Had everything we needed + more. Clean, modern space and couldn't have received better service from Anita.

Negative: We found everything great. But if you're not a fan on insects maybe staying inland won't be for you as you'll see quite a few cute geckos, wasps, dragonflys etc. All windows are covered in fly netting though.

Summary: Beautiful accommodation, everything you need. Amazing host. Great location
